The Riverland Community College Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society, Zeta Eta Chapter has achieved the Pinnacle Platinum level in Phi Theta Kappa's 2006 Pinnacle Scholarship Award Program. This award recognizes chapters that increase membership acceptance during their fall membership campaign. PTK advisors Carol Busch, Sue Grove, and Sue McCormick will accept the award for successfully conveying membership benefits to eligible students throughout the year.
In recognition of its achievement, Riverland's chapter has received a Pinnacle Platinum Scholarship valued at $225 for the 2007 International Convention in Nashville.
Phi Theta Kappa, the honorary scholastic society for two-year colleges, was founded in 1918 and is recognized by the American Association of Junior College in 1929. It is the respected fraternity demanding scholarship, service and leadership. Today, Phi Theta Kappa has more than 800 chapters throughout the United States. The Riverland Community College Chapter, Zeta Eta, was founded in 1947. More than 1,900 members have been inducted over the chapter’s history. |
