Riverland Community College honored current and outgoing faculty and staff at the College's annual Riverland Awards and Recognition Ceremony on May 15 at the Riverland Austin Campus West Building.
Riverland gathered to acknowledge staff members for their achievements through out the year including those who reached milestones of years of service, Faculty Awards of Excellence, and this year's retirees.
Riverland Nursing Program Director Danyel Helgeson was acknowledged as the Riverland nominee for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching. The nomination recognizes an individual faculty member for their superior professional accomplishment and teaching.
The College also acknowledged employees who received a "Moment of Greatness" award over the past academic year. The "Moment of Greatness" award provides employees the opportunity to encourage and recognize other employees for their contribution to the College's day-to-day successes.
In addition, the College awarded Susan Grove, a retired faculty member, the title of Emeritus Faculty. She received this award for her outstanding and long-term service to Riverland in the years 1977 – 2008.
