Riverland Community College Director of Nursing Danyel Helgeson and Nursing Lab Assistant Jane McKinley presented a seminar pertaining to the Riverland Health Sciences Simulation Lab at the Society for Simulation in Healthcare's (SSH) international conference in Orlando in early January. The presentation included a video produced by Helgeson, McKinley and Shawn Martin from the Riverland Office of Instructional Technology.
Helgeson, a graduate of Riverland’s Nursing program, holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing and a master of science degree in nursing education from Winona State University. She is a licensed public health nurse and has worked at St. Mary's Hospital Emergency Department-Mayo in Rochester and the Austin Medical Center.
McKinley, a 1980 graduate of Riverland’s registered nursing program, has been the nursing lab coordinator since 1994.
