English instructor Jon Olseth was selected as the Riverland nominee for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees Award for Excellence in Teaching. He was honored at a statewide awards event in April with nominees from across the state system.
Riverland was allocated one award to recognize an individual faculty member for their superior professional accomplishment and teaching. Olseth’s nomination stemmed from his unflagging concern for helping students and improving student writing.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees selected three faculty members to receive the statewide Excellence in Teaching Awards. The faculty awarded were from Rochester Community and Technical College, Century College in White Bear Lake and Rainy River Community College in International Falls.
As a nominee, Olseth also attended the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development’s 29th annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence at the University of Texas, May 23-25, 2007. |
