Gary Schindler, Riverland dean of students, has been elected president of the Minnesota Community College Athletic Conference executive committee. He will meet with representatives of the various Minnesota colleges to approve team schedules, develop policy governing state athletics, facilitate disciplinary interventions concerning the action of athletes and/or athletic department staff at a college. The president also meets annually with the presidents of community colleges with athletic programs and approves the addition of new sports teams to the conference.
Additionally Schindler will serve on the national selection committee for the State Department's International Research and Exchange Board, the IREX program. This student-study-abroad program focuses on providing business education to college students from the republics of the former Soviet Union.
Schindler has been a college employee for 17 years. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Nebraska and holds a master’s degree in counseling. His bachelor’s degree is in history. |
