Riverland Community College French/ESL/Speech Instructor Sue Grove has been appointed as a Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) representative to the Assessment for Course Placement Committee. This standing Minnesota State Colleges and Universities committee exists to ensure the consistent and effective implementation of Board Policy 3.3 Assessment for Course Placement.
Grove served on this committee six years ago. This year's charge is to establish minimum cut scores for the ACCUPLACER™, a placement test for incoming college students, and LOEP, the Academic American English Placement test.
Grove has worked at Riverland since July of 1977 in the areas of ESL (English as a Second Language), French, and Speech. She earned her master’s degree in education from Southwest Minnesota State and has completed graduate work in French from Minnesota State University, Mankato and the University of Northern Iowa along with graduate work in Speech also from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has a bachelor of science degree in French from St. Cloud State University. Grove leads study tour to France in the spring.
Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) was created in 2001 by the merger of United Technical Educators (UTCE) and Minnesota State College Faculty (MCCFA.) It is the exclusive bargaining representative for all technical and community college faculty in Minnesota. The MSCF provides a liaison between educators in the colleges and all other groups concerned with education. The MSCF strives to maintain accessibility to high quality technical education and liberal arts education throughout the state of Minnesota. |
