Be Your Best

The Be Your Best Summer College Prep Academy is for young people between the ages of 16 and 22. You can earn free college credit in Math, Reading, Writing, and Study Skills and Computers. We provide tutoring and advising to make sure you succeed. Lots of fun, free activities such as pizza parties, bowling, and horseback riding are part of the program, too.

The Be Your Best Summer College Prep Academy is a great way to jump start your college career!

  • Current high school students welcome
  • High school graduates welcome
  • Students no longer in high school without a diploma welcome

The Be Your Best College Prep Academy helps students improve their math, reading and writing skills to prepare for college courses. Be Your Best is a free program. Students must be nominated by a teacher or adult who encourages participation.

Nominees should be ages 16 to 22, and not yet have college-level skills in math, reading and writing. High school students, graduates, or students who left high school without graduating can be nominated.

Nominees should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • English is not their first language
  • Parents did not attend college
  • Family faces economic barriers

If you are a student who is interested in attending the program, you must find someone to nominate you. Can you think of any teachers, counselors, advisors or other adults or other professional in a mentoring relationship or other adults who would be willing to tell us that YOU would be a good choice for the program? Give them an application and ask them to nominate you!

If you know of a student who is interested and willing to commit to the Be Your Best Summer College Prep Academy, Please share the brochure "About the Summer College Prep Academy" with the student. If the student is still interested in the program, please complete a nomination form (English / Spanish) and send to Riverland Community College Admissions.
