Coach Scott Koenigs begins his 8th year as Head Coach of the Riverland Blue Devils. Koenigs led the Blue Devils to a 37-10 record and its 2nd trip to the JUCO World Series in 2009. The 2009 Blue Devils team broke many team and school records on its way to the Conference, State, and Region Championships. The Devils finished the 2009 season as the #6 ranked team in the nation. The Devils, under Coach Koenigs, have improved each season since his arrival. Coach Koenigs was awarded the District 13 Coach of the Year, District E Coach of the Year and American Baseball Coaches Association and Diamond Sports Regional Coach of the Year. The Riverland Baseball Program has become a very competitive program year-in and year-out. The Riverland Campus has become a yearly recruiting stop for D.I, D.II, NAIA, and D.III 4-year baseball programs looking for immediate help.

Coach Koenigs also begins his 2nd year as an Associate Scout for the Kansas City Royals. The Riverland Community College campus and Dick Seltz field is the home to a Kansas City Royals open tryout each summer. "The Royals are a great organization with a rich baseball tradition; I am thrilled to be associated with the team. I appreciate the opportunity the Royals have given me and look forward to helping the team any way I can. I believe that my association with the Major League club will make our baseball program here at Riverland much stronger and hopefully lead to a JUCO World Series Championship."

Prior to arriving at Riverland Community College, Koenigs was Head Baseball Coach at GMLO in Minnesota, leading them to a conference title in his first season at the helm. After 2 years at GMLO, Coach Koenigs was hired as a Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. Koenigs spent his two years with the Jayhawks coaching the outfielders and assisting with the hitting coach. Koenigs worked for former Major Leaguer Bobby Randall at KU. At KU, Koenigs was involved in recruiting, evaluating, day-to-day practices, and game-day events.

Koenigs played collegiately at Fergus Falls Community College and Winona State University. He received his Social Studies and Coaching Undergraduate Degree from Winona State University. Coach Koenigs received his Masters Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Kansas.

Austin Baukol begins his 1st year as the Blue Devils Assistant Coach and will also be responsible for the Devils pitching staff. Baukol, a native of Shakopee, Minnesota, attended Dakota State University for three years before becoming a graduate of Mayville State University in Mayville, North Dakota. While at Dakota State University, Baukol helped the Trojans to their first super-regional appearance in over a decade before falling to Briar Cliff.  While at Mayville State University, Baukol was 2nd Team All-Conference during his junior and senior for the Comets.  Baukol graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching.
