Season Preview - 2008
The Riverland Community College women’s golf team will be young but very exciting. All three players will be freshmen. Led by Laura Meyer, a two sport athlete who will also plays softball. Meyer is a very talented athlete who has played limited golf but she will be the Lady Blue Devils leader. Kari Anderson, a freshman from Southland High School in Adams, MN will bring a lot of knowledge and talent to the golf team. She is a talented golfer and hopefully her scores will gradually decline as the season progresses. The last member is Julie Schroeder, a student from Leroy, Minnesota. Julie is a first timer and learning the game very fast. With her enthusiasm and desire to improve this team will be fun to watch as the season progresses. The women will play in 5-6 tournaments, including the state and region which will take place on October 5-6, 2008 in Brained, Minnesota. Riverland Community College is a member of the MCAC conference and its home course it Austin Country Club. The Lady Blue Devils are coaches by David Lillemon, who also serves the softball coach in the spring and the Athletic Director.
