Tibisa is an example of doing what it takes to get to the next level. Choosing to play Junior College ball and being a two year starting point guard, rather that being a reserve or JV player, gave her that scholarship opportunity to play at the next level.

Pre-Season Summary

The Blue Devil Women have been fighting to break into the ranks of the top four spots in the talented and very competitive Minnesota Community College Conference (South.)

Head Coach, Suzy Hebrink, feels this is the year to do it.

“This year separates us from other years, given the level of play the majority of our athletes have played at. We have some very competitive and talented athletes. How hard this group is willing to work and how well they can work together, will be key factors in determining their success on the hardcourt this season.”

Although the Lady Devils are young the experience of this team is impressive. Tracee Crowley started every game for the Blue Devils last season where her strength and competitiveness helped fuel her team. Tracee averaged 9 points a game and was second in steals and assists. Although she is the only returner from last year’s team, Tracee is not the only sophomore. She is joined by two Des Moines Area Community College Transfers, Rebecca Swalla and Ali Mackey. Rebecca (South Hamiliton High School 1,000 pt scorer) will lead the Blue Devils as point guard this year and Ali will also make her mark on the perimeter. Giving more depth to the guard court are Austin High School’s Anna Hebrink, (1111 career points) Lizzie Gunter, and Holly Waltz. All three freshmen will add speed and athleticism for the Blue Devils this year. Rounding out the roster are all forward positions that will be dominated by freshmen. Brooke Monson (Austin High School) is the primary center for the lady devils. She will be a dominant force with her height and versatility. Providing depth to the post is Jenyce Mueller from Stewartville and Carmen Smith from Lyle/Pacelli.
