The 2006-07 Region XIII Golf team was announced today and Riverland Community College?s Brett Wuerflein has made the 17 man squad. To qualify as an All-Region member a golfer must finish in the top 15 of the Region XIII tournament or be a member of the winning team. Madison Area Technical College won the championship on Oct. 2-3, 2006 with a 603 total. Wuerflein shot an 80-76 in the two day event for a 156 and a tie for 12th place. There were 13 teams represented in the field and 64 golfers that competed in the tournament hosted by Madison. Brett is the second alternate incase any of the top five individuals do not participate in the 2007 NJCAA national tournament. The Blue Devils have had players qualify in eight of the last ten seasons to the NJCAA national tournament.
