Four Riverland softball players honored

The Riverland softball team had five players named to the All-MCAC Southern Division team recently.
Laura Meyer and Jill Radke were selected to the first team and Kaylee Newmann and Mandy May were selected to the second team.
Meyer, a freshman catcher and center fielder from Washburn, hit .544 this season while scoring 27 runs and going 21-for-21 on stolen bases. She hit safely in all 26 games she played in.
Radke, a sophomore right fielder from Maple River, hit .537 with seven doubles and 17 runs. She was selected to the first team last year as well.
Newmann, a sophomore pitcher from Alden/Conger, went 8-8 with a 2.48 ERA. She pitched 108 innings and struck out 63 while walking 32.
May, freshman shortstop from Randolph, hit .394 with an on-base percentage of .589. She was 24-for-25 on steals and had 69 assists and 50 putouts while committing just eight errors.
RCC will play Madison Area Tech in the Region 13 Tournament Friday at noon in Rochester.
