Poor field conditions in the northern part of the state forced the postponement of Tuesday's scheduled softball doubleheader between Riverland and St. Cloud Technical College.
The Minnesota College Athletic Conference, South Division doubleheader will now be rescheduled for next Tuesday in St. Cloud.
"They've had a lot of snow over the last few weeks and the field in St. Cloud just wasn't ready to be played on," Riverland coach Dave Lillemon said. "Although we didn't get to play, there was still some good news to report on our team.
"Laura Meyer was named as the MCAC South player-of-the-week for our four games played last week. She's having a great season and this is a nice honor not only for her, but also for our program."
Meyer is off to a sizzling start on the season as she's currently riding a 13-game hitting streak. She lit it up offensively in four division games last week to earn the honor.
Stroking a total of six hits in 12 plate appearances, Meyer also had five stolen bases during those divisional doubleheaders last week.
Riverland (8-5, 2-2 MCAC South) travels to Worthington on Friday for a division twinbill against Minnesota West.
