"This is what we expected from Brandon and he delivered with a great pitching effort," Riverland coach Scott Koenigs said. "There were no errors on our defense. They were ranked No. 8 in the nation, so we got the season off to a good start."
In the first game on Sunday, the winning pitcher against Jamestown was Mitch Jaeger. He went five innings, allowed six hits, gave up one unearned run, and struck out six batters. Nate Steenblock pitched the final two innings and allowed only one hit.
