The Nursing Entrance Test (NET) is a required exam for students seeking admission to Riverland's Nursing Pathway Program. As a computer generated, nationally standardized exam, the NET assesses the basic math and reading skills students need to successfully complete a nursing program. Prospective nursing students who use the NET as a tool to identify their academic strengths and weaknesses should also be able to plan their education more effectively.

• Schedule a testing appointment - online, over the phone, or in person
• Bring a photo ID to the testing session
• Pay the $25.00 test fee. Retests are allowed for a fee of $35.00. Test fees are payable in cash, by check, or by money order.

To pass the NET, Riverland's Nursing Pathway Program requires that testers earn minimum composite scores of 55 in both math and reading -- within the same test administration.

The NET score determines the number of points testers are awarded from the NET portion of the entrance scoring sheet. Testers who score below the required minimum composite scores might want to contact the Nursing Program or Admissions Department for additional information.

Current Riverland students can check out the NET study guide for one week from the Riverland libraries located on the Austin and Albert Lea campuses. In Owatonna, students are allowed to use the NET study guide on-site in the Student Success Center.
