Accuplacer/CPT is a computerized assessment test that will provide information about your level of skill accomplishment in reading, writing and mathematics. Assessing your ability in these areas will help you and your counselor or advisor determine the classes for which you may register.
You will take the test on a computer and use the keyboard and mouse to enter your answers and supply other information. A test proctor will be available if you have any questions during the test.
All questions are multiple choice. Tests are not timed so you can give each question as much thought as you wish. You will receive the test results when you meet with your counselor or academic advisor.
If you have earned a high school diploma or GED, these test results will not prevent you from being admitted to the college; however, low test scores may prevent you from registering for certain classes or courses.
If you have not earned a high school diploma or GED, these test scores will determine whether you are admitted to the college.
Retesting is done on a restrictive basis and only with counselor or advisor approval. The cost for retesting is $15.00. A student may retest only once within an academic year. |
