Distinguished Alumni Award Nomination Form

  • The Riverland Community College Distinguished Alumni Award shall be bestowed upon individuals who have distinguished themselves within the collegiate environment or are otherwise noteworthy.
  • Nominees shall be selected based on the following criteria;
    • Must have attended or graduated from Riverland Community College or any of its previous names located in Albert Lea, Austin, and Owatonna (e.g. Albert Lea Area Vocational Technical Institute, Albert Lea/Mankato Technical College, Albert Lea Technical College, Albert Lea Technical Institute, Austin Area Vocational School, Austin Community College, Austin Junior College, Austin State Junior College, Austin Technical College, Austin Technical Institute, Minnesota Riverland Technical College, Owatonna Extension Center - Austin State Junior College, Owatonna Higher Education Center, Owatonna College and University Center).
    • Have made a significant contribution to the achievement of the college's and/or foundation's mission.
    • Is a community leader who has fostered partnerships with the college.
    • Contributed to society or community in a significant way.
  • Nominations are considered from entries submitted by Riverland Community College staff, faculty and emeriti faculty, and Alumni & Friends Committee members.
  • Submit your nomination to the President's Office.
  • Deadline for nominations is 4:00 p.m. on the third Friday of February every even-numbered year. Late nominations will not be considered.

Designees from the Graduation and Alumni & Friends Committees will review the nominations and forward their recommendation to the college president for approval. The Distinguished Alumni recipient shall be recognized at the Riverland Community College commencement exercises.
