Program Transfer Guides
Pre-Law
The pre-law transfer plan is a two-year selection of courses designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year college or university. A student's GPA and score on the Law School Admission Test are the primary factors on which law schools base their admission decisions. Law schools generally do not require a particular major or any prescribed courses as prerequisites for admissions, but do require a bachelor's degree. Students should select a major field which interests them and which will provide them with a basis for an alternative career choice should their plans to finish law school not be realized. Even though no particular pre-law major is best for all students, there must be substantial academic content in the pre-law education as suggested below. The student must meet Riverland Community College Associate in Arts Degree requirements and should examine the catalog of the transfer institution to determine specific major requirements. |
