Riverland Faculty Notes
Susan V Hansen, theatre instructor at Riverland, is completing her Master of Fine Arts in Acting at MSU Mankato this spring. She is currently performing in The History Boys as Mrs. Lintott, and will perform her thesis project in June as three different characters in Neil Simon's Plaza Suite. Last Fall she performed in Lysistrata as Myrinnha and designed costumes for Cloud Tectonics. She recently competed in the Region V Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Kansas. Susan teaches Beginning Acting, Intro to Theatre and Film, and Stage Makeup.
Scott Blankenbaker, music instructor, and Bradley Weber, theatre instructor, sang the tenor solos for the Austin Symphony Orchestra/Riverland Choir presentation of Handel’s Messiah in December 2008. Riverland students Matt Stoneking and Anna Sturtz were chosen as bass and soprano soloists, respectively. The ASO chorus was prepared by Riverland voice instructor Sonia Larson. Mr. Blankenbaker attended the 4th International Physiology and the Acoustics of Singing Conference in San Antonio, TX in January 2009 and will be giving a voice recital in February.
The Music Department welcomes Angela Donlon as voice instructor in Owatonna.
