Riverland Community College Foundation Update from Pam Bishop, Foundation President

pam bishop

The 2003-04 year presents excellent opportunities for the Riverland Community College Foundation. Our 17-member board is made up of dynamic and dedicated individuals from the Riverland region who are working to implement our strategic goals. While concentrating our efforts in these areas over the next several months, we will continue working to raise funds for scholarships, program enhancements, leadership development and resources to assist the college serving the region.

We recently updated our mission statement which states:

Riverland Community College Foundation raises, manages, and distributes resources to support, enhance and promote the educational opportunities Riverland Community College offers the people of our region.

We accomplish our mission by:
  • raising funds for scholarships, program enhancements, and leadership development
  • cultivating regional partnerships
  • advocating for the college and its students
  • teaming with college leadership

The Foundation also held a strategic planning meeting in September where we established our 2003-04 Strategic Goals:

Goal #1: Re-examine Foundation Mission statement (Completed, October 28, 2003)

Goal #2: Continue to implement Fundraising and Friend-raising Plan

Goal #3: Develop long-term strategy for College Park Housing

Goal #4: Identify area partners including alumni members

Goal #5: Hold minimum of one board team-building event per year

Goal #6: Establish a plan to disburse and invest funds raised during 2003-04 year
