Riverland Honorary Degree
Riverland alum State Representative Dan Dorman received the Riverland Honorary Degree at the Fall 2000 Commencement ceremony last December.
Dorman attended Austin Community College (now Riverland), and then earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota. Dorman has served as a board member of the Albert Lea Campus Foundation for more than six years and is also a member of the Riverland Albert Lea Advisory Board. He is the owner of Hanson Tire Service of Albert Lea where he and his wife, Mary Jo, live with their two children.
Recently, Dorman was elected to his second term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. In this role, he serves as an advocate for the College. His commitment to the needs of higher education and Riverland, in particular, are demonstrated through his persistence and dedication to resolve issues concerning higher education at the state level.
In all of Dorman's endeavors he supports the College's mission and goals and proactively strives to help Riverland continue to grow and flourish. |
