Riverland's James Wegner Art Gallery features "Wizards of Watercolor"

Riverland Community College's James Wegner Art Gallery is displaying a new show, "Wizards of Watercolor," featuring four local artists?James Wegner, Sally Gerhart, Shirley Tapp and Bonnie Lee. The artists' diverse subjects feature both traditional transparent and opaque watercolor. The show runs from February 23 through March 13, 2009. There will also be a public reception held for the artists on Thursday, February 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the art gallery.

According to Riverland Art Instructor Tim Jones the exhibition showcases a remarkable group of painters and highlights some of the foremost regional practitioners of this medium, representing one of our area's cultural strengths.

The Riverland James Wegner Art Gallery features a diverse mix of student, community and professional artist work, traveling shows and the like. It is located on the Austin Campus in the West Building. Gallery hours are: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Riverland Community College, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, is a regional comprehensive community college inspiring learning for living through a personalized educational environment.
