Here are a few scholarship recipient stories:
"Riverland Community College is an excellent contributor on the road to a successful and secure future. Riverland is big enough to provide a good education, yet small enough to provide attention to each individual student. It is a privilege to attend Riverland and I plan to contribute to the college in any way possible. This scholarship has helped accelerate my future goals in the construction field. I plan to share my knowledge and talents in the southern Minnesota area."
Chad Juenger, Adams, MN, Construction Electrician, Carney Presidential Scholarship, 2002-03
"After completing my Associate Degree in Nursing at Riverland, I plan to attend a university to pursue my bachelor's degree in nursing. In addition to studying for school and attending classes, I work to put myself through school. The scholarship I received is helping me realize my lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. Riverland is perfect for me! It gives me the advantage of staying home, allows me to keep my job, and provides me with a great educational value at a small-campus."
Jeff Gold, Albert Lea, MN, Registered Nursing, Presidential Scholarship, 2002-03
"After completing my AA degree at Riverland, I plan to transfer to the University to major in Veterinary Science. I am very involved in my community through the 4-H program and serve on the 4-H Executive Council as well as the American Kennel Club of Freeborn County. One of the main reasons I chose to attend Riverland was so I could stay in my community and continue my commitment to 4-H. It is also a wise financial choice to attend my first two years of college at Riverland."
