2007 Inductee Larry Chesin
Golf (1962-63, 1963-64)
Larry Chesin was one of many standout golfers for Austin State Junior College coached by Red Hastings. Chesin copped medalist honors his freshman year (1970) in the state tournament and qualified for the NJCAA national tournament in Joliet, Illinois, firing a 299 and finishing 18th in the country. As a sophomore, Chesin led his team to the SMJCAA championship and again qualified along with two other teammates to the NJCAA tournament in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He shot 322 and finished 18th in the field of 79 golfers.
