Getting Started Checklist
- Complete a College Application and pay the $20 nonrefundable application fee.
Return the application to Riverland Community College Admissions Department. You may apply and pay
your fee online at www.riverland.edu or call Admissions to make a VISA or Master Card payment.
- Submit High School and College Transcripts
Contact your high school guidance office and college registrar to request a copy be sent to Riverland.
- Complete an Immunization Form
All students MUST complete and sign the immunization form. However, actual medical documentation is
not required.
- Apply for Financial Aid
Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov, a free online application.
Please check with any Riverland Student Service Center for assistance.
- Complete Assessment Testing
Testing is available in Albert Lea, Austin, or Owatonna
This test measures reading, math and writing skill levels.
- Complete Orientation Online
When you reach the last screen on Online Orientation, you will be directed to a calendar of dates for Advising and Counseling for Enrollment (ACE) sessions. Please sign up for an ACE session to come on campus and
register for your classes. Now that you have completed all of the above steps, you can attend your ACE session.
- Attend an ACE session to register for classes
You will be arriving on campus to meet with a Counselor or Faculty Advisor and register for classes. ACE
sessions also include financial aid information, parent's session, student life hospitality room, and optional tours.
- Pay Tuition and Fees
Student Service Centers will assist you.
